Tibetan medicine – is one of the eastern medical traditions, which completely accomplished till 12 century. The main difference of Tibetan medicine from the European in that not only one organ or disease is being treated, but the system of organs and the whole organism. …. The system, complete view on the patient and his disease is applied.

The disease symptoms is considered in Tibetan medicine in the context of the whole “situation”: taking into consideration the constitution type of the patient, conditions of his origin (climate, way of living, interconnection with other symptoms, which at first sight don’t have any relation to the applied problem. The man is being considered not only as a set of organs, but as multilevel system (see “Three levels TM: body, energy, consciousness”), in order to cure the disease, often it is necessary to cure several organs.

Also, many of us know the situation when the person does not feel well and examination does not reveal serious deviations: analyses and results of US in norm and the doctor recommends «to take vitamins». Such deviations — of functional level – respond to diagnostics and correction in the Tibetan medicine. It is possible because in the Tibetan medicine is estimated not only a condition of organs, but also the condition of energy system as a whole, and balance of three basic of three regulation systems («wind», «bile» and "slime"). Their disorder at first can not be shown in the form of concrete disease. There is «subsemiology» which only with the lapse of time becomes chronic disease without being corrected.

Thus, the Tibetan medicine is not only medical, but treatment-and-prophylactic medicine. If the basic systems of a body are in balance — chronic diseases are not formed, because the disorder is corrected at an early stage.

More system, “general” view at diseases and condition of the person gives to the Tibetan medicine a number of advantages in comparison with the European medicine. In the European medicine the doctor first of all sees the disease of one organ and consequently there is a big quantity of narrow experts: gastroenterologist, the lung specialist, the gynecologist, etc. In the Tibetan medicine the doctor estimates a condition of the whole organism, that is why the Tibetan doctors — general practitioners. It is possible because knowledge of the Tibetan medicine allows to see interrelations of many systems and organs of the body. It would seem that isolated diseases at point of view of the Tibetan medicine doctor are often seen as one disease that is expressed in different organs. For example.

The patient who complains of a diarrhoeia, inflammations of eyes (for example, conjunctivitis), the headaches, excessive sweating and dermatitis, the insomnia, the raised arterial pressure, and often has conflict situations at work and at home.

For the doctor of the European medicine such a patient — real efforts: consultation of the oculist, the dermatologist, the neuropathologist, and the psychotherapist. For the doctor of the Tibetan medicine — such patient — is a real gift: all his complaints refer to only one system of a body (bile system) and the treatment will be rather easy. Such uniting approach to the patient is based on the theory of 5 elements.
It is a basis of the Tibetan medicine, namely the knowledge of interaction of elements – in person’s body, in foodstuff, in the nature, in factors of a way of life gives a doctor such understanding of health and disease.

The Tibetan medicine is aimed at full healing of disease. For example, in case of diabetes, a rheumatic arthritis, gout, and many other diseases the European medicine is directed on restraint of disease — an establishment of as much as possible long remission. However it is seldom possible: patients with a bronchial asthma, hypertensive disease, diabetes are doomed to lifelong drug intake. In the Tibetan medicine often is possible full recovery from diseases which are considered chronic, incurable. Of course, serious diseases are difficult for treatment in any medical system. However, persistent application of all set of methods of the Tibetan medicine does possible recovery even at difficult patients («Cases of practice»). It often demands activity of the patient: readiness to refuse habitual models of a way of life, keeping a certain diet, exact performance of recommendations about drug intake and procedures. Only one drug intake though and almost always facilitates a condition of the patient, but ignoring other methods of influence (a diet, procedures, change of a way of life) not always gives full effect. It is especially important to keep by the intention completely to get rid of deep chronic disease: here it is required the endurance, patience and readiness to follow the doctor from the patient.

It is very effective medical system it is possible to treat set of diseases incurable in the western medicine with its help. The last one is more effective by the treatment of the dangerous conditions menacing to life — when methods of resuscitation, intensive therapy and surgery are applied. Hi-tech methods serve people good as well in such areas as stomatology and hardware diagnostics. By the treatment of chronic, so-called «incurable» diseases, the Tibetan medicine has no equal in it.

Also, the Tibetan medicine "catches" diseases at functional level when still there is no damage of organ. For example, painfulness in the kidneys can disturb the patient. By the standard inspection (ultrasonic of kidneys, urine analyses) a pathology does not come to light and the person is considered healthy. By the inspection with a technique of the Tibetan medicine, despite seeming subjectivity, deviations can be revealed in work of regulation systems of organs.

One of features of the Tibetan medicine is that it is aimed at aetiology removal, and not just symptoms. Therefore it is effective in treatment of chronic and prolonged diseases. For example, «the cold of kidneys» will be a disease basis in case of chronic pyelonephritis. And, in spite of the fact that manifestations often look like «heat», that is an inflammation, till the basis of disease (cold)  is not cured inevitably will arise exacerbations. The same situation is with chronic «the latent infections». Courses of antibiotics, long and repeated often do not give definitive effect, not to mention complications in the form of a dysbacteriosis. The Tibetan medicine does not consider microorganisms as an aetiology, but only as an accompanying factor. The reason lies more deeply: usually it is the same «cold» which has affected kidneys, or it is long existing insufficiency of digestion which has led to decrease in immunity which in its turn is weakened by antibiotics even more.
